Welcome to issue ten of Ludogogy Magazine – Futurism
This issue looks at Futurism in a very broad sense, looking at games that encourage us to peek into possible futures, how games teach us the skills of planning ahead, and indeed exploring what may be in store for the future of the fields of games and play themselves.
This issue has been a really interesting one to work on, and unusually it contains some ‘fiction’ as well as our usual non-fiction articles. Inevitably, looking forward means that we are exploring the unknown. We cannot truly see into the future – to make firm predictions, but we can use techniques that explore what is already happening and the likely future scenarios that may emerge as a result (scanning for ‘signals of change’ and using foresight techniques).
Explore:
The future of gamification in education
What and how we will play in 2040
Teaching players to think and plan ahead
Sex and intimacy during the COVID-32 pandemic
Much more
